Colonial Raptor Reconnaissance/Assault craft
The Colonial Raptor may not enjoy the glamour of Viper starfighters, but the compact, rugged and versatile craft is the real workhorse of the Colonial Fleet. Equipped with sophisticated sensors and electronics, the Raptor is the invaluable long ranging eyes of the fleet, as well as serving as a command and control craft for Viper operations. The Raptor can carry a full squad of Marines for the assault role, as well as missiles and bombs in its three belly ordnance bays. Unlike the Viper fighters it can make short hyperspace jumps. A heavy attack version has also been developed with external missile and heavy gun pods.
