Terran Technology
Terra is called "Earth" by its inhabitants. Sierran Intelligence has studied this planet, classified as SK-3, for many centuries. The Terrans share a remarkably similar external appearance with the Sierran race. The famous Sierran fighter pilot Talon has performed many covert reconnaissance missions amongst the Terran people, blending in with the population with ease. The Terrans have achieved limited interstellar capability.
Scorpion-class Starfighter
The Scorpion is a Terran low cost, mass market fighter commonly found wherever humans proliferate, and is widely used by all sorts of operators. The fighter is fairly large and was purposely designed to be low-tech. Affordability was the underlying philosophy of the Scorpion. The fighter requires low maintenance and is rugged and docile to fly. It is an ideal ship for operating in remote and primitive conditions.
The Scorpion is unusual in having very limited fixed armament, the intention was to allow operators to mount a variety of weapons of their choice on 4 lateral external hardpoints. The only standard fitted armament is a single high-powered laser cannon mounted in a chin turret. The turret has a forward lateral firing arc of 180 degrees, but that option is only available if a second crew is carried to function as a gunner. If the pilot is the sole crew then the gun is locked to fire forward. The Scorpions shown here are armed with paired rocket pods and standoff missiles, as well as a second forward-firing laser cannon and a long-range targeting pod. The Scorpion's performance is decidedly mediocre, but its low cost and rugged durability will ensure that it will be a common sight for a long time to come.
