Colonial Viper Mk.4 Interceptor

The Mk.4 Viper was the largest and heaviest Viper variant to see service, and was a significant departure from the original Viper Mk.1 or the Mk.2. Compared to the versions that preceeded it, the Mk.4 was far larger and had a well-armoured hull. Although the basic philosophy and tactics of the Colonial fighter fleet remained unchanged; using the light-weight Viper in swarms of at least squadron strength; the much more well-equipped Mk.4 allowed far greater operational flexibility than ever before. The armament of the Mk.4 was also beefed up, with a primary armament of two energized projectile cannons introduced by the Mk.2, as well as two light lasers in the fuselage on either side of the cockpit. The Mk.4 enjoyed a long period of service with the Colonial Defence Force, it was well-liked by its pilots for its toughness and ease of handling.
